On the 12th and 13th of July
2001, at 17:00 hours, two workshops
will take place at Tranzit House which will have as guest Mr. Peter Tomaz
Dobrila, president of the Kibla Association for Culture and Education and
director of Multimedia Center CyberSRCeLab-MC Kibla, Maribor,
Slovenia.
The workshops are part of
the TranzIndex project initiated by Tranzit Foundation with the support of the
Concept Foundation, in partnership with the French Cultural Center from Cluj,
ProHelvetia Foundation and Sindan Cultural Center. The project’s aim is to crate
a network of the independent Eastern-European cultural centers for contemporary
art, as well as to generate a local interdisciplinary research of contemporary
issues of critical approach regarding the new media.
One of the project’s goals
for this year is an inter-regional conference on “Censored Images in Present and
Recent Eastern Europe” which will take place between 27-30 of September 2001 at
Tranzit House in Cluj.
The workshops lead by Peter
Tomaz Dobrila will consist in a presentation of the Multimedia Center
CyberSRCeLAb – MC, considered by many as one of the most important cyberspaces
in Eastern Europe, a presentation of Slovenian media art and also a debate on
censorship’s manifestation in the new
media.
